What is a Russian e-Visa

An electronic visa (e-visa) is a simplified type of visa that can be obtained entirely online.

There is no need to visit a consulate or visa center.
All documents are submitted online, and the approved visa is sent by email.

The e-visa is suitable for:

tourism
business trips
private visits

How long is the e-Visa valid

After issuance, the e-visa is valid for 120 days (about 4 months).

This means you must enter Russia within those 120 days.
Once you enter the country, you can stay in Russia for up to 30 consecutive days.

Example:

if the visa is issued on May 1
you can enter Russia until the end of August
after entry, you can stay in Russia for up to 30 days

What documents are required for a Russian e-Visa

To apply for an e-visa, you need to provide the following documents:

Passport
A clear photo or scan of the first page of your passport.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months after the end of your trip.
You can upload your passport image through the online form.

Photo for the visa
The photo must meet the following requirements:

color photo
light, plain background
the face should cover about 70% of the image
the photo must be taken within the last 6 months

Travel insurance for trips to Russia

A valid travel medical insurance policy is required to enter Russia.
It must cover possible expenses in case of illness or an accident during your trip.

Insurance requirements:

minimum coverage of 30,000 €
valid for the entire duration of your trip
covers medical treatment and emergency expenses
